Hawaii update, new Tattoos updates  So my trip started off pretty slow, it was practically dead after that one busy Sunday I had when I first got to town. Dead for almost two weeks. All comes with this profession...feast or famine. Especially in this town. Anyway, these photos aren't exactly in order so I'm gonna wing it. This little sunflower was a walkin from last night. Her first tattoo, with her kids' names and a bible verse.  This rose was done on a friend of a friend, let me do any kind of rose I wanted, and I wanted do something fun with color. The cover up underneath was done by someone else. This was alot of fun to do and got to experiment a bit.  Another first tattoo on a mother who wanted her daughter's name in Hawaiian. A QUESTION FOR TATOO  Another stab at some polynesian! He was a surfer from Australia with some scarring on his arm. Haven't worked with scars too much as of yet so this was good practice for me. A question for tatoo TWO WEEKS TO GO FOR NEW TATTOOS today I met this man, who came to fix my car. when I saw his arm, tattoed , I did ask him the meaning of the word and he said: this is the name of his son, called: João Victor (something like John Victor in English) Is he right? I don´t think so.... It is completely gibberish, not even correct with the gibberish font.

Playing some serious catch up!  This was done while I was out in Hawaii... he came back in the shop after I came home so they guys out there took a healed photo for me! My tattoo I found your blog randomly, looking for someone to help me figure out what my tattoo says. I've had it for about 11 years. I was young and stupid. I plan on covering it soon, but I would really like to get your opinion,  FRIEND'S TATTOO I was told it meant "strength"...but then someone else told me it says "Small animal" or "Little tornado". Thank you so much! I appreciate it! Due to tattoo's poor calligraphy, it is difficult to determine if it is intended to be a single character, 慉 (to foster) or double character phase, 小畜 (small animal). Either case, it is definitely not "strength".

A youtuber's tattoo  I was watching some tattoo videos on youtube, and this lady seems to think this tattoo is her star-sign, Aries. What does it actually mean? Suspicious looking tattoo  I've been reading your HanziSmatter blog for a while now and I've always found it equally amusing and educational. A little while back one of my friends has gotten his ankle tattooed as you can see in the attached image. Tattoo meaning if any? I got this tattoo 17 years ago in NYC. Tattoos were not totally legal in the city yet and I was underage. Internet was not in full swing either. Trust in God Tattoo?  My brother in law thinks this says "trust in God". Can you confirm this? Thanks 神 typically is used to describe deity, not necessarily the Judea-Christian sense of "God", which is 上帝. WHAT DOES THIS TATTOO MEAN? 信用 is not "trust", rather creditworthiness along the line of trying to get a loan from bank.

Hello: My name is Bill and I am writing to you from Florida. Photo of the mystery tattoo Recently, I've met a lady that has many tattoos. I asked her about one of them, and she embarrassingly admitted to me that having gotten it quite a long time ago (being her first one), she does not remember what it says. It is apparently a phrase of some sort written in kanji. I immediately recognized the first symbol as "tao", or "do" (the way/path/road), but the others are unfamiliar to me.
